Now i understood what is the missing link between our generation and our students or our children generation. I can see why they are always can't believe what we are saying like wait till i check the help icon in a new program to see how it works or when i buy a new cell phone and of course i cant use it till i know every button do what see look to me as if i am insane creature in front of them.
I liked what Dr. Bruce D. Perry of Baylor College of Medicine says “Different kinds of experiences lead to different brain structures" It showed us like this digital natives generation experienced they can deal with those situation in a different way from us, I think they are like us with our parents they looked to us the same look as we are not doing anything right they feel panic from using the cells phone don't mention the computers.
I understand now that we should change our strategies of teaching and our methods because those old way of teaching can't cope with those students they need something relevant to their environment, surrounding and their way of thinking.

Congratulations on getting your blog up and running! You have identified a major difference between you and your students and that is an important step to bridging the gap in teaching and learning. All the best.
ReplyDeleteDear Omnyeya, congratulation your new blog. You are stating a very important issue which is the cultural and learning gap between two different generations. This gap is not only in the way of using cell phone or logging the internet but in the way they consider their own matters like clothing, having meals, responding to other people's opinions and the ways they follow to fulfill their needs. It is life!
